am a self-taught mixed-media artist who gets inspiration for my art from just about everything and anything. Photos, old magazines and books, paint, glue, wire, ink, markers, beeswax, beads, charms, feathers, seashells, cardboard, handmade papers, glass, string, marbles, dominoes, playing cards, tiles, dice, leaves, twigs, paper clips, tissue, gems, jewels, buttons, miniatures, push pins, ribbons, clothes pins, fiber, glitter...just about anything you can think of is used to create two and three dimensional pieces which are sometimes serious, oftentimes whimsical, but always thought provoking. In fact, I will use any materials that will spark the imagination hoping to get a response from the viewer to what I call my "whimsical, happy art."
my entire life, I have played with, and sometimes made a complete mess of all sorts of art supplies. From the orange shellacked collage I decorated on my mother's laundry room door to the hand made pottery I made as a young child, I have always enjoyed creating new and imaginative objets d'art.
full-time mom who has finally found time to follow my heart's desire, I live in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband, Stephen and my two children, Daniel and Julia Macy (a.k.a. Jamie)...and Franklin, our pound puppy. I love to scavenge for found object treasures to incorporate into my art. If I could just figure out a way to relocate Atlanta to the beach then it would be perfection!
think the absolute best part of living a creative life is the fact that I can work in one of my various pairs of bunny slippers all day long. I can listen to whatever sort of music I want and sing to my heart's content when nobody else is listening!! Still, the best part of my day is the time I cherish so dearly spent with my family and those whom I love.
